The Heart Chakra
he symbol for the heart chakra is a circle of
twelve lotus petals surrounding two intersecting
triangles, forming a six-pointed star. The triangles
represent the descent of spirit into the body, and the ascent
of matter rising to meet spirit. The heart chakra is the
middle chakra in a system of seven. It is located in the chest
area. This chakra governs the heart, lungs, lymph glands,
and immune system. The heart chakra is the center of love
and compassion.
The love we experience at the level of the heart chakra is
distinctly different from the more sexual and passionate
love of the second chakra.
